Friday – Sunday, March 3-5th Georgia Tiny House Festival – Eatonton

Attention! Calling all HGTV and Tiny House lovers!! The United Tiny House Association will be holding the Georgia Tiny House Festival at the Ooh La La Lavender Farm in Eatonton Friday through Sunday. This is an event you won’t want to miss! There will be more than two dozen different tiny homes for festival goers to gawk at! Whether it’s a bus, a camper, or a home this festival has everything you’re looking for. A definite must for those interested in pursuing the simplistic tiny house lifestyle.

Ticket Information:

Friday the event is FREE to everyone from 5-8PM

One-day ticket – $20

Two-day ticket – $35

Campsite – $15-$40 – you must have a one/two-day ticket purchased as well.

Saturday, March 4th Beekeeping, Learn the Essentials – Madison

Spend the day with experienced beekeeper, Linda Rivers, learning the essentials to beekeeping. You will learn things like how to prepare yourself, what type of equipment you need, how to get your bees, placement of your hive, etc. This class will take place at the Farmview Market in Madison from 10AM-12PM. Saturday, March 4th 3rd Annual “Seuss On The Loose” Celebration – Eatonton

Bring the kiddos out for a day of fun at Putnam County Primary School in Eatonton. The morning starts off with a one-mile fun run at 9:30, then later kids can play games and participate in all sorts of fun activities. There will also be a great selection of items to bid on for a silent auction. Wristbands are $10 a child and lets them participate in all the activities. This events helps support Putnam County Ferst Foundation with all proceeds going towards Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy. Friday, March 10th Tickets GO ON SALE for Dancing With the Lake Oconee Stars

Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 10th at 9:00 AM for Dancing With the Lake Oconee Stars. You can only purchase tickets by phone at 706-453-1908. Last year tickets sold out within just a few hours, so if you want to go, you better be ready at 9AM! However, you CAN start VOTING for KIM LOGAN and JERRY FOWLER NOW at www.firstcall.me. The actual event will take place Thursday, March 23rd.

Saturday, March 11th Homesteading Class – Madison

Mark Tewksbury will be hosting a Homesteading class at Farmview Market on Saturday, March 11th from 9:30AM-12:00PM. In this class, Mark will take you to his own homestead in Morgan county and show you the ins and outs of his lifestyle. He will talk all about growing your own food and raising animals like chickens, turkeys, draft horses, sheep, bees and beef cows. Saturday, March 11th Greene County Habitat for Humanity Clay Shoot – Sparta

Greene County Habitat for Humanity is holding its first annual charity Clay Shoot. The clay shoot will take place at the Old Hudson Plantation in Sparta. An individual ticket is $175 and for a team of 4 individuals it’s $700. Each ticket includes your breakfast, lunch, ear plugs and 100 shells. You also get to attend the award ceremony afterwards. Thursday, March 16th “An Irish Heart” at The Plaza Arts Center – Eatonton

The Lake Oconee Area Builders Association is hosting their Annual Big Event. The event features different businesses in the lake area, car and boat show, and a ‘kid zone’. Thursday, March 23rd Dancing With The Lake Oconee Stars – Eatonton

The event we’ve all been waiting for – or at least all of us here at the office. See our very own Kim Logan and Jerry Fowler from Bank South compete to win in this dance off amongst other residents of the lake area. The event will take place at the Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. Join four different storytellers for this two-day storytelling Festival at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. Hear tall tales by Donald Davis, Bil Lepp, Andy Offut Irwin, and Regi Carpenter. There will be 4 different performances with the first one starting Friday at 7PM. The next three performances will be on Saturday at 10AM, 2:30PM, and 7PM. Saturday, March 25th Create Custom Hand-Drawn/Painted Notecards – Madison

This is a great class for both adults and kids alike. Learn the basics about creating beautiful notecards that are perfect to send to family and friends. You will both draw and paint the cards during class. All materials are provided and you get to take our masterpiece home with you! The class begins at 10AM and ends at 12PM. Tickets are $30 a person and you must be 14 years of age or older to attend.
