Lake Oconee Area Supports Veterans Wall of Honor in Putnam County
The Keller Williams office at Lake Oconee will be sponsoring a CAR WASH to raise funds to support the Veterans Wall of Honor in Putnam County!
Many area residents and businesses in the lake area are busy helping raise the estimated $80,000 cost of the project. No government funds will be used for this park project that will consist of six walls of bricks, with the words “Putnam County Veterans Wall of Honor Park with the crest of the five Armed Forces. There area will be landscaped and include soft lighting, several benches and flag poles. The 7,500 square foot memorial will feature “brick pavers” which the organizers propose to sell for $30
The Wall of Honor was proposed by the American Legion, Post 583 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6686. The Veterans Wall of Honor will hopefully open to the public and be dedicated next Veterans Day, November 11, 2014
