Every last Monday in May, Memorial Day gives extra time to remember the men and women who died while serving our country in the armed forces and celebrate their achievements. With Memorial Day coming up this Monday, May 26th, of course many of us will be having family and friends over for cook outs and boat rides on the beautiful lake but there are also fun and family friendly events going on around our beautiful Lake Oconee if you are looking for more unique Memorial Day plans.
The city of Madison in Morgan County has a very patriotic Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday the 26th where Main Street, the American legion, and around 1,000 motorcyclists participate in the annual Ride for America in Town Park. For more information on the event click Here.
Another exciting event is the annual Memorial Day Weekend Celebration from Friday, May 23-May 26th, that is put on by The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation in the city of Greensboro in Greene County. This four day event includes everything from fireworks and a concert to recreational activities throughout the entire weekend.
