Support the “real” Buckhead by participating in their annual 5k! You can register for $25/person.
 

Saturday, April 1st Bag Lady Luncheon – Madison

The Madison Artists Guild Gallery and the Boys & Girls Club are holding a special luncheon. Guests will receive a boxed lunch from Icebox Café and listen to the guest speaker, Christie Hudson of Chris Hudson Couture. Saturday, April 1st 3rd Annual Bark for Life of Morgan County – Madison

A “dawg” gone FUN day for both you & your furry friend. The annual Bark for Life is an American Cancer Society event sponsored by Morgan County Humane Society and will take place from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Bill Wood Park (100 Heritage Park Circle). Bring the littles out to the Festival Hall in Greensboro to enjoy a fun filled afternoon with your favorite fairytale characters. Enjoy fairytale EVERYTHING including games, rides, bounce houses and even a petting zoo! You can buy wristbands at Little Scholars Academy. Saturday, April 8th Shoes of Service 5k and Fun Run

Shoes of Service is a program that helps give shoes to those in needs. Da Vinci Foot and Ankle along with LOA sophomore, Anna Harris will be hosting the run. The race starts at 9:00AM and will start at Lake Oconee Academy. The 5k is $25/person and the fun run is $20/person. To register you can go here and for more information click here
 

Saturday, April 8th Low Country Boil – Madison

Support the Morgan County Humane Society by attending their Low Country Boil held at 1561 Eatonton Hwy in Madison. Listen to live music, participate in a cornhole tournament and enter to win some cool prizes – even a Spa Day at the Ritz Carlton. Tickets are $50 apiece and include food and two drinks. The event will start at 6:00 PM.
 

Saturday, April 8th Community Shred Event – Madison

Maybe not a necessarily “fun” event, but an event to attend if you’ve got a lot of papers around your home or office that need shredding. You can drop off up to 5 boxes (PAPER ONLY) at the 2nd Street entrance to Town Park. Sunday, April 9th Valentina Lisitsa – Madison

Enjoy the sweet sounds from classical musician Valentina Lisitsa as she plays the piano at the Madison Morgan Cultural Center. This is a special 15th anniversary appearance and the program includes Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Mussorgsky. There will be a reception following the performance. Celebrate Black History by attending the NAACP Black History Parade and Festival on Saturday, April 15th in Madison Town Park. The parade starts at 1:00 PM and ends at 2:00 PM. Afterwards, you can attend the festival until 5:00 PM where you’ll hear several speakers, enjoy good food and see all the great craft vendors. Friday- Sunday, April 21st -23rd 23rd Annual BRAG Spring Tune-up Ride – Rutledge

For the past 23 years BRAG or Bicycle Ride Across Georgia has held an annual Spring ride. The rides range anywhere from 20 to 100 miles, just depending on the rider’s preference. Rides start on Friday and continue through Sunday with different rides starting at different times and on different days. “Home base” is at the Sunflower farm in Rutledge. Participants can camp out on the farm and enjoy a live band Friday and Saturday night as well as various food trucks during the day. For more information or to register for the event go here.

Saturday, April 22nd Madison Fest – Madison

Spring is here! Celebrate in a fun way by spending the day at the Madison Fest Festival! The festival starts at 10:00 AM and will end at 4:00 PM. It will be in the Town Park and is focused on living a “greener” life. There will be all sorts of activities including a plant sale, information on bee keeping, gardening advice, live music, kid’s crafts and much more! This is a FREE event. Saturday, April 29th Historic Greensboro Ramble – If Walls Could Talk – Greensboro

The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club will be hosting the first Historic Ramble which includes a tour of historic homes, churches, and other sites in downtown Greensboro and Union Point. There will be story telling by locals for each of the sites visited. The tour will start at 10:00AM and end at 4:00 PM.
