At Brittney Cares, our mission is to support families and individuals facing extraordinary challenges. Recently, we had the honor of providing assistance to Tanea S. Williams, a courageous mother, nurse, and community hero.
Tanea is a 30-year-old Registered Nurse and a devoted single mother to her three-year-old son, Daniel. After giving birth, she developed Peripartum Cardiomyopathy, which caused severe heart failure. This was followed by a stroke that required months of hospitalization.
Despite ongoing heart failure, Tanea returned to work as a Hospice RN, caring for others while supporting her young son. In March 2025, her condition worsened, and she suffered a second stroke. She underwent lifesaving LVAD surgery while awaiting a heart transplant.
Today, Tanea is making steady progress. She is actively participating in speech therapy and cardiac rehabilitation, focusing on recovery and regaining her strength with the goal of returning to work. Her determination, resilience, and unwavering love for her son are truly inspiring.
