Lake Oconee hosted “Big Break Invitational”

Lake Oconee hosted “Big Break Invitational”

Lake Oconee hosted “Big Break Invitational” that aired on the golf channel! The tournament was held at Great Waters September 30 through Oct 3.

20 men and 20 women who were all former Big Break Competitors competed in the inaugural Big Break Invitational at Reynolds Plantation. The Big Break Invitational is a four-round tournament held at the golf course in Great Waters. The six men and six women who moved on to Friday’s final round will be in the money.

It was one of the most exciting tournaments with all the players competing for a $300,000 purse, with $100,000 going to the champion!

We were lucky enough to see one of the competitors, Jerry Rice, from Big Break NFL Puerto Rico, playing golf at Great Waters. Many of our friends were out and about watching the tournament, both on the course itself and by watching from their boats!

The Great Waters golf course is consistently ranked in the top 100 in the nation. For example, the Great Waters golf course was voted Number five in the “Top 10 Nicklaus Courses You Can Play” by GOLF Magazine and has been among “America’s Best Residential Golf Courses” by Golf Week magazine. Golfers can play along the shores of Lake Oconee on this 7,073 yards and par 72 course. The golf courses at Great Waters and The Landing hosted the 41st PGA Professional National Championship, the showcase event for PGA Professionals, in June 2008.
