Monday, October 2 | Taste of Eatonton | Plaza Arts Center, Eatonton

Indulge in bites of new and signature dishes while celebrating the culinary expertise of the community at the 2017 Taste of Eatonton. The Taste of Eatonton features booths for more than 20 different restaurants from Eatonton-Putnam County, Milledgeville, Greensboro, Madison and Monticello. The very best of the best gather to impress attendees with their skills, create delectable dishes and showcase the community’s most adored treats. The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce’s largest fundraiser of the year also features a silent auction filled with fabulous deals and the famous bottomless wine glass will be back again for $15 per person. This year we are adding live music to the agenda with Tim Cadiere and Washboard Road Band! Tickets are available at The Peoples BankFarmers & Merchants Bank, and Exchange Bank. Friday, October 6 | Historic Pews & Pulpits Ramble | Bus departs from Home Depot, Greensboro

Join us for our second scenic bus tour through rural east Georgia. We have five stops along the way to tour historic churches tucked away but not forgotten. Not only will you get to go inside the churches and hear about their humble beginnings, you’ll be inspired by songs and words from some of the chancels and pulpits. Snacks & lunch are included. Each church will have a 30-minute program of either the history of the church or a hymnal program, and ample opportunity to walk the grounds and photograph the area from 9:00 a.m – 4:45 p.m. For more information, call (706) 465-9604.
 

Saturday, October 7 | Madison Chili Cook-off and Fall Festival | Madison Town Park

Chili teams compete in two categories with public chili sampling beginning at 12:30 sharp. Sample, and then vote, for your favorite chili. Shop for locally grown produce, fall plants, and beautiful handmade arts and crafts by regional artists while listening to live music from the music tent. There will also be a Krystal’s Chili Pup Eating Contest and Homemade Cornbread Contest as well as lots of fun things for kids to do. Event is from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Saturday & Sunday, October 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, 28-29 | Southern Living Inspired Home on Lake Oconee Public Tours | Harbor Club on Lake Oconee

Harbor Club will be offering a series of public tours of its stunningly beautiful new Southern Living Inspired Home every Saturday and Sunday during the month of October. A variety of cooking, entertaining and interior design demonstrations from the pages of Southern Living are on tap throughout the month of October. There is no charge to tour the Southern Living Inspired Home, but a $10 donation is suggested, which will fully benefit the Greensboro-based Circle of Love Center. The center provides direct and support services to domestic violence victims and their children in Greene, Morgan, Putnam, Baldwin and Hancock counties (Click here). Sunday, October 15 | UGA British Brass Band | Festival Hall, Greensboro

The “UGA British Brass Band” was established in August 2014, coinciding with the appointment of Philip Smith as Prokasy Professor in the Arts to the trumpet faculty of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Saturday, October 21 | Deep Roots Festival | Downtown Milledgeville

Named one of Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 events, winner of Southeast Festivals and Events Association (SFEA) Best Event 2009 and voted Lake Oconee Living magazine’s Best Event for 2010, Deep Roots is a cultural art and music festival not to be missed. It includes an antique car show, live entertainment, artist market, and LittleRoots, KidZone. Tuesday, October 31 | Trick or Treat | Downtown Greensboro

Little ghouls and goblins are invited to Greensboro for Downtown Trick or Treat. Downtown merchants – many in costume – will offer a trick or a treat for children 12 and under. Children should begin their visit to town at the Greene County Court House where they will be given an official trick or treat bag and a snack. All children should be escorted by an adult. The Greensboro Police Department will be on hand to ensure fun and safety for all. From 5-7 p.m. Visit here for more information.
