What To Do In Lake Oconee: September 6th-September 8th

Lake Oconee

Fall is in the air! Well, almost.

Although labor day this past week signals the unofficial end of summer, there’s still plenty of summer flare (and temperatures) to enjoy world-class golf and Lake Oconee.

Here are your top ideas and events to make the most of your stay this weekend, September 6th-September 8th.

1. Enjoy Lower Lake Traffic

Due to the start of school, there are noticeably fewer visitors to the lake, even on weekends. This makes warm September weekends a prime time to enjoy the jumping rock, a sunset cruise, or wake-surfing on the lake without the crowd.

2. Georgia Bulldogs Home Opener

On Saturday, September 7th the Georgia Bulldogs have their home opener at Sanford Stadium at 4:00 PM EST. Just a 45-minute drive from Lake Oconee, there will be plenty of fun, energy, and tailgating near the University of Georgia Campus. Alternatively, enjoy one of the local establishments, whether it’s Georgia Grill, Amici, or the National Tavern for a lively game-day atmosphere.

3. Harmony Park Farmers Market

The Harmony Park Farmers Market has three weekends remaining before closing up shop on September 28th. Grab a coffee from nearby La Lora Cafe before grabbing some of the best local produce and offerings the Lake Country has to offer on Saturday morning from 8 AM–12:00 PM.

4. Trucks Gone Wild

Friday until Sunday, Mud City Motorsports Park is bringing the excitement of Trucks Gone Wild for a weekend of off-road excitement in Milledgeville. Find more information here: Trucks Gone Wild

5. S’Mores By The Lake

Few activities bring the family together after a long day on the lake like a cozy bonfire and of course, S’Mores.

Head on over to the Ritz Carlton, the new world record holder for the biggest S’ more, for bonfire indulgence between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

6. Visit The Kim and Lin Logan Real Estate Office in Eatonton

Are you new to the lake and looking to learn about the area? Head to our Eatonton Office located at 1028 Lake Oconee Parkway, near Harmony Square. There will be an agent on duty from 10am-4: 00 pm to assist you with anything and everything from local recommendations to understanding the local real estate market.
