We’ll be parading through Downtown Madison to ring in the Christmas Holiday! The Holiday Parade will feature floats, walking groups, vintage cars, horses, dogs, dancers, and the award winning MCHS Marching Bulldog Band, all decorated to this year’s theme, ‘Deck the Halls.’ Want to be in the parade?

The Light Up The Night Christmas Parade will take place at 6pm. There is no fee to enter the Parade. The lineup for the Parade will gather at the Putnam County Elementary School. The theme for this year is Hometown Christmas. There will be a prize for the Top 3 voted on by our special panel of judges. Cost: Admission is free.

A wonderful Christmas concert at Highgate with not just one, but two great vocal groups performing: the UGA Accidentals with lead performance by Broadway Babies. The Accidentals are UGA’s internationally recognized all-male a capella group who have been performing for 44 years and counting! These UGA students are a motivated and talented group of male vocalists. From performing at locations such as Snowshoe Mountain, WV to New York City, as well as more local areas such as Atlanta and North Carolina, the Accidentals are a well-practiced and professional group. The energy and personality the group brings to the stage are unique to the collegiate a capella realm.

Sun., Dec. 20 | A County Christmas at the Historic Tompkins Inn | Rock Eagle 4-H Center, Eatonton

Sitting quietly off Madison Road, is an often forgotten, humble dwelling. Built around 1810, the Tompkins Inn served as a halfway point to rest while travelling between Athens and Milledgeville. After being uninhabited for many years, we are bringing new life to the Tompkins Inn. On December 20th, families will take a trip back in time as they tour the Tompkins Inn. Join Rock Eagle educators as they lead pioneer games and activities around the property. Afterwards, guests will gather around a campfire for storytelling, and songs. Advanced registration is required and cost is $5 per person. Light refreshments will be served.
